Designed for schools, businesses, parks, and other public areas, this double-sided rack securely holds 16 bicycles upright in vertical sections that are welded into the grid section for strength, rigidity, durability, and protection against bike thieves. With the Allen 200C Connector Kit, this rack can be connected to any other Allen Industrial Grade double-sided rack in any combination to provide the exact parking capacity required. The frame is made of 1-6/10-inch-diameter carbon-steel tubing. Black-powder coating over a zinc-plated finish combines the durability and aesthetic qualities of powder with the corrosion resistance of zinc plating. (The manufacturer says an independent-laboratory test of the finish found no traces of corrosion after 200 hours of salt-spray testing.) The rack measures 95 inches wide x 40 inches deep x 30 inches high. Assembly (instructions included) requires approximately five minutes. About Allen Bike Racks
In 1967, after a few years of working on the aerospace technology for the Apollo missions, Dick Allen was out of a job. Government cutbacks led Allen, a Harvard-trained physicist, to transform his garage hobby into a new industry. At first, the Allens’ tested the prototype on weekend excursions. Finding the first trunk-mounted rack to be a success, Dick started Allen Bike Racks. Dealer acceptance came quickly, and by 1971 Allen Bike Racks were sold nationally through a number of major bicycle distributors. Today, the company owns over three dozen patents and offers a versatile product line of bike racks while Dick’s son Alex now owns and operates the business.
